The Federal Government has provided farm equipment and supplies worth N5 billion to enhance agricultural activities in Jigawa State.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, announced this during the Green Field Day celebration in Dabi Village, Ringim LGA, reaffirming the government's commitment to agricultural transformation and food security.
The initiative includes the distribution of 10,000 water pumps, knapsack sprayers, herbicides, pesticides, and organic fertilizers to support farmers.

Under the National Agricultural Growth Scheme – Agro Pocket (NAGS-AP) program, Jigawa has expanded wheat farming from 30,000 to 80,000 hectares, engaging 160,000 farmers in the 2024/2025 dry season farming.
Kyari also urged retailers to reflect the recent drop in food prices in their sales, ensuring affordability for Nigerians.
The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision of modernizing agriculture through mechanization and sustainable farming.
