The Niger State Government is forging a strategic partnership with the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to enhance the transportation of farm produce across Nigeria.
During a meeting in Lagos with NRC's Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago emphasized the initiative's role in supporting the Federal Government's food security agenda.
He highlighted that efficient rail logistics would reduce post-harvest losses and improve the agricultural supply chain.

The Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, also pledged his support, citing engagements with stakeholders to boost agricultural investments.
Sammy Adigun, Chairman of Niger Foods, praised the initiative and expressed optimism about the imminent resumption of train services between Minna and Lagos, which could significantly enhance food distribution nationwide.
