The Federal Ministries of Youth Development and Labour and Employment have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create economic opportunities for young Nigerians.
The agreement, announced by Omolara Esan, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, aims to equip Nigerian youth with skills and opportunities to thrive in today's economy.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, and Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.
Speaking at the signing, Olawande emphasized the importance of the Labour Employment and Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP) and the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA) in driving skills development, job placement, and entrepreneurial growth.
"This partnership goes beyond promises—it is about action. By integrating vocational training, technology, and mentorship, we are committed to equipping Nigerian youth with the right skills to succeed in today's competitive job market," he said.

He noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu's vision to address youth unemployment and drive sustainable economic growth, ensuring young Nigerians are prepared for jobs and entrepreneurship.
Onyejeocha reaffirmed the Ministry of Labour and Employment's commitment to job creation under President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing that LEEP follows the theme:
"Don't Leave Anyone Behind"—ensuring youth, women, and retirees have access to economic opportunities.
She added that the ministry is committed to working with stakeholders to reduce poverty, create wealth, and expand employment opportunities for Nigerians.
