The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has reaffirmed the agency's commitment to driving innovation and job creation through strategic partnerships.
Speaking at the iHatch Upskilling Programme, organized in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Inuwa engaged hub managers from across Nigeria to discuss ways to expand digital inclusion and economic opportunities in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reform agenda.
The programme aims to equip hub managers with the skills and resources needed to support startups, enhance funding access, and scale commercialization strategies.

According to Inuwa, the expansion of iHatch is projected to train 185 startups, create 774 direct jobs, and over 7,400 indirect jobs across the country.
Additionally, NITDA is exploring plans to convert Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers into innovation hubs to further accelerate Nigeria's digital transformation. Hub managers are also expected to champion the Nigeria Startup Act, connect startups to global opportunities, and strengthen the nation's tech ecosystem.
With this initiative, NITDA and JICA reaffirm their commitment to fostering a thriving innovation-driven economy that empowers Nigerian entrepreneurs and drives sustainable development.
