The 2025 National MSME Awards application portal has recorded an overwhelming response, with over 60,000 small businesses submitting entries since it opened on March 7.
According to Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on MSMEs and Job Creation, the competition has drawn applicants from across Nigeria, with businesses in agriculture leading the entries, followed closely by digital technology, creative industries, leatherworks, furniture, fashion, beauty, cosmetics, and manufacturing.
"This year's awards have attracted participation from businesses in every part of Nigeria—from Lagos to Aba, Kaduna to Maiduguri, Makurdi to Birnin Kebbi, and beyond," Adekunle-Johnson stated.

The 2025 edition introduces a new category for entrepreneurs with disabilities, further expanding opportunities for innovative small businesses. Winners will not only receive prestigious recognition but also benefit from incentives designed to propel their businesses forward.
"This initiative underscores the government and private sector's commitment to empowering MSMEs, recognizing their critical role in job creation and economic development," he added.
With the April 7 deadline fast approaching, entrepreneurs are urged to seize this golden opportunity and submit their applications before it's too late.
