Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended Jumia Nigeria for its contributions to the country's e-commerce sector and economic development.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by Jumia Nigeria's management, Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the company's growth and impact, stating that it has become a major player in Nigeria's digital marketplace. He urged Jumia to maintain its service excellence while striving for greater innovation.
The governor reaffirmed Lagos State's commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, emphasizing ongoing efforts to enhance the ease of doing business and promote economic growth.
"Our administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment where businesses can thrive. Through various initiatives, we are strengthening economic opportunities and innovation, and we will continue to support enterprises that drive development," Sanwo-Olu stated.

Jumia Nigeria's Chief Executive Officer, Sunil Natraj, expressed appreciation for the government's support, crediting Lagos for providing a foundation that enabled the company to expand from a startup into Nigeria's leading e-commerce platform.
"Jumia has grown significantly from its early days in Lagos to a dominant force in Nigeria's e-commerce sector, with a presence in nine African countries. Today, we provide direct employment to hundreds of Nigerians and indirectly empower thousands more through our network of sales agents and partners," Natraj said.
He reiterated Jumia's commitment to enhancing customer experience and simplifying online shopping, ensuring that more Nigerians can access convenient and affordable digital retail solutions.
