About 3,500 youths across Nasarawa State's 13 LGAs have received a N1 billion empowerment boost to launch sustainable businesses.
The initiative, a collaboration between the Nasarawa State Government and Interweave Solutions International, will provide N500 million each in its first phase.
During the official launch in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule revealed that 50 youths have been selected for a pilot phase and will undergo training in modern business practices.
He said the grants aim to curb unemployment, promote entrepreneurship, and align with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta, stressed that the empowerment would help reduce youth involvement in crime by promoting self-reliance. He assured that structures are in place to monitor fund usage and ensure business growth.
Interweave's Country Director, Exodus Esuku-Ibor, praised the partnership and said the 50 youths have been organized into five registered cooperatives, each with a business account. He noted the disbursement will be done in tranches to ensure transparency and prevent fund misuse.
