The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has disbursed N10 billion to the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) to kick-start an enterprise development initiative aimed at supporting small businesses across the region.
NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, made this known during the inauguration of NDCCITMA's board of directors in Port Harcourt, stating that the fund is part of a N30 billion commitment to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in the Niger Delta.

"We have approved 5,000 businesses to begin this initiative, and we're committed to growing the region through commerce and trade," Ogbuku said.
He added that all NDDC contractors and vendors must register with NDCCITMA by July 31 to be considered for future opportunities.
NDCCITMA Board Chairman, Mr. Idaere Ogan, pledged the chamber's full support, noting that the initiative would drive job creation, innovation, export growth, and sustainable partnerships within the regional economy.
