President Bola Tinubu is fully backing the $25 billion Nigeria–Morocco gas pipeline project, which tops his list of strategic priorities, according to Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.
Speaking at the African Parliament's executive session in Casablanca, Ibrahim said Tinubu is also set to review and revive other abandoned national projects.
The 5,660 km pipeline will supply 30 billion cubic metres of natural gas yearly and pass through 13 African countries.

Senator Ibrahim highlighted the massive potential of the project to create thousands of jobs, drive industrialisation, and support digital and sustainable energy development across the continent.
He also called on Morocco to ease visa restrictions for Nigerians, noting the economic opportunities the project will generate. The initiative is still in its feasibility and planning phase, with the final investment decision postponed to 2025.
MThe Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, is reportedly working on legislation to clear any legal hurdles for the project. The African Parliament Union expressed strong enthusiasm over the pipeline's prospects.
