To mark World Milk Day 2025, Nestlé Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development have sealed a partnership to train dairy farmers and boost milk production across Nigeria.
The agreement, signed on Monday, kicks off the Dairy Technical Skills Development Program a bold initiative to strengthen Nigeria's dairy value chain.
The program will train mid-level manpower in milk production, hygiene, processing, and farm management.
Nestlé Nigeria CEO, Wassim Elhusseini, said the company is leveraging its global dairy expertise to provide targeted training tailored to Nigerian needs, helping create jobs and improve nutrition.

Livestock Development Minister, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, revealed that a Dairy Training Centre will be set up in Paikon Kore, Gwagwalada. This is part of the government's National Livestock Growth Acceleration Strategy.
Since 2019, Nestlé has run its Dairy Development Project (NLDP), establishing 83 cooperatives, training over 2,000 milk producers, and collecting more than one million liters of raw milk.
The new collaboration promises to deepen these efforts, promote food security, and unlock economic opportunities in rural communities.
