As part of activities marking World MSME Day, the organisers of the 2025 Lagos Leather Fair have announced a ₦2.5 million grant for the top three performing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) participating in this year's edition of the fair.
The event, scheduled to hold from June 28 to 29 at the Balmoral Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together stakeholders from across the leather value chain—including manufacturers, designers, suppliers, and investors—to showcase innovation and craftsmanship in Africa's growing leather industry.
Now in its 8th edition, the Lagos Leather Fair is one of the continent's most recognised platforms for promoting the leather sector, connecting entrepreneurs to market opportunities and fostering collaboration within the ecosystem.
Organisers say the grant initiative aims to recognise and reward excellence among participating SMEs while promoting access to markets, visibility, and cross-border expansion opportunities.

This year's fair will also feature mentorship sessions, business advisory clinics, and curated investment offers for both exhibitors and attendees. A key highlight will be the engagement of high-net-worth individuals with selected brands to deepen commercial networks and drive growth for promising businesses.
According to the organisers, the initiative aligns with a broader commitment to supporting MSMEs beyond funding, with efforts also targeted at capacity building, access to resources, and long-term business development support.
The Lagos Leather Fair continues to serve as a strategic hub for stakeholders keen on unlocking the economic potential of the leather industry and empowering local entrepreneurs to compete on a global scale.
