Lagos State has announced plans to boost SME activity in its coastal cities through renewed investment in tourism and the regulation of waterways.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, and other cabinet members, inspected Ilashe Beach Resort and Koko Beach on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, as part of efforts to unlock the business potential of coastal communities such as Ilashe and Ibese.
The state government said the initiative is aimed at creating a more structured ecosystem for tourism operators, local artisans, hospitality businesses, and transport SMEs, while ensuring the waterways are sanitized and better regulated for sustainable use.
