The certifi… | By Busola Bamidele on September 27, 2025 | The Ugandan government, in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands, has issued 294 Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs) to smallholder farmers in Rubanda District to strengthen land tenure security and boost food production. The certificates, presented at Muko Playground by Dutch Ambassador Frederieke Quispel, are part of the five-year Agricultural Governance Results Improvement Project (A-GRIP), launched in 2023. Read also Funded by the Netherlands and implemented by Cordaid, the project aims to empower farmers through secure land rights. Ambassador Quispel said the certificates will enable farmers to invest confidently, access credit, and increase household incomes. Heleen Vander Beek called for sustained funding for land management systems, while Rubanda RDC Eric Ssewandigi hailed the initiative for curbing land grabbing and transforming local communities. | | | |
