Yobe State Government has issued a warning to traders allocated shops at the Senator Ibrahim Gaidam Ultra-Modern Market in Damaturu to open for business or risk losing their spaces.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, while launching the distribution of 50,000 assorted grains to vulnerable residents, decried the refusal of some beneficiaries to occupy their shops nearly three years after allocation despite the huge state investment.
"We cannot allow these facilities to lie waste. If shop owners fail to comply, their allocations will be revoked," Buni said, directing the Ministry of Commerce to enforce the order.
