The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment is currently on a study tour to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, United Kingdom, as part of efforts to deepen job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people in the state.
The delegation led by Commissioner Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, alongside Permanent Secretary Mrs. Lolade Aina, Director of Employment Mr. Shitta Lateef and Director of Partnerships Mrs. Adeniyi is understudying the operations of the Barking Learning Centre, a facility known for its effective workforce development structure.
According to the Ministry, the tour is designed to equip Lagos with modern strategies for strengthening job centres, expanding partnership frameworks, and improving youth-focused skills programmes that support startups and small businesses.

The team will also explore global best practices on employability pathways, reskilling systems, and innovative models that keep young people productively engaged key priorities that align with the THEMES Plus agenda of the present administration.
This engagement is expected to enhance Lagos State's ongoing interventions on youth unemployment, while opening new collaboration channels with international development partners and local industries to support SMEs.
