Lagos State has reaffirmed plans to strengthen business mobility and unlock new economic opportunities for small enterprises through an integrated transport and aviation expansion.
Speaking at the 3rd FAAN National Aviation Conference, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu – represented at the event where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was also represented by SGF Senator George Akume – said Lagos is investing in a fully connected rail, road, water and air system to support commerce and ease movement for entrepreneurs.
The governor highlighted the Blue and Red Line trains already moving thousands of commuters, with the new Green Line set to link Marina to Lekki and the site of the planned Lekki–Epe International Airport.

He described the new airport as a strategic infrastructure that will decongest MMIA, support the rapidly expanding Lekki industrial corridor, and position Lagos as West Africa's leading aviation and logistics hub a move expected to reduce logistics delays for SMEs.
Sanwo-Olu added that the project is being designed with climate responsibility, community impact and long-term economic value in mind.
He assured FAAN, NCAA, investors, logistics operators and airline partners that Lagos is open for business, and committed to building a safer, stronger and more competitive aviation sector that enables small businesses to thrive.
