President Bola Tinubu says ongoing national reforms aimed at strengthening the economy and key institutions are designed to secure a better future for Nigerian youths, equipping them with skills needed to compete globally. He stated this while receiving the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, at the State House on Monday.
The President noted that youths remain central to Nigeria's economic repositioning, stressing that their participation in and ownership of current reforms will shape the nation's long-term growth. He highlighted that youth development will also dominate discussions at the upcoming G-20 Summit, where Nigeria will push for stronger global support for emerging economies.

Tinubu said his administration's reforms are built around growth, productivity, and skills expansion, citing the Education Loan Fund as a major step toward ensuring no young Nigerian abandons schooling due to financial constraints. He explained that the reform agenda spans multiple sectors to promote collaboration, stability, and long-term economic synergy.
Prince Edward, Chairman of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation, briefed the President on the forthcoming international award event scheduled for Lagos. Nigeria's Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, also highlighted the programme's benefits for young entrepreneurs and MSME-focused youth initiatives.
