The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Olayiwola Awakan, says the 2025 edition of Naija Flavour; Destination December will drive wealth creation, empower small businesses, and strengthen Nigeria's creative economy. Scheduled for December 13, the event will showcase culture, food, fashion, theatre, games, and music while offering SMEs a platform to expand visibility and attract customers.
Unveiling the programme in Abuja, the DG described Naija Flavour as a strategic cultural tourism initiative aligned with the economic priorities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration. He said the event supports the Renewed Hope Agenda by focusing on economic expansion, SME development, creative sector growth, and sustainable value creation.

Awakan noted that Nigeria's globally recognised "Detty December" presents an opportunity to convert cultural energy into a structured tourism product that drives jobs and revenue. He added that a new theatrical production, "Echoes of the Drums," will serve as a centrepiece for cultural storytelling and tourism promotion.
He called on SMEs, corporate partners, and stakeholders to leverage the economic opportunities the festival will create. The NTDA emphasised that Naija Flavour is not just entertainment but a national economic driver capable of boosting income, sustaining jobs, and amplifying Nigeria's tourism potential.
