Over 1,000 women in Osun State have benefited from a government-backed empowerment initiative aimed at supporting small-scale businesses, the Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority, Olalekan A. Badmus, has revealed. The announcement was made during the fifth edition of the programme held at the Tinubu/Shettima campaign office in Osogbo.
The initiative, sponsored by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, provides grants to women entrepreneurs to help grow their ventures. Badmus noted that the programme is designed to give back to society and strengthen local trade, adding that more editions are planned to reach additional beneficiaries in the coming months.
"The major aim is to support residents across the federal constituency by encouraging women in small-scale businesses through financial assistance," Badmus explained.
