Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has announced a new category under its prestigious "The Nigeria Prizes" initiative — The Nigeria Prize for Creative Arts designed to empower young Nigerian filmmakers and strengthen the country's growing creative MSME ecosystem.
Targeting filmmakers aged 18 to 35, the initiative encourages the production of documentary films that highlight Nigeria's identity, culture, and resilience. The prize, which begins its first cycle in February 2026 alongside the existing Nigeria Prize for Science and Literature, carries a $20,000 award.

Sophia Horsfall, NLNG's General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, said the initiative reaffirms the company's commitment to investing in Nigeria's creative capital. "The Prize invites young Nigerians to own their narratives and showcase the nation's brilliance through storytelling," she said.
By bridging youth creativity and industry opportunity, the programme aims to promote innovation, cultural exchange, and MSME development within the country's film and media sectors — positioning storytelling as a key driver of national growth and global recognition.
