The farmers, who rely heavily on the river for their operations, noted that previous flood incidents had posed significant risks to their fish ponds, farmland, and equipment. By clearing silt and improving water flow, the de-silting project is expected to safeguard their investments and improve productivity. Supervised by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Ejiro Jamani, the project highlights Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's commitment to environmental sustainability and economic resilience, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in agriculture and aquaculture.
