Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on entrepreneurs in the Southeast to take advantage of the Federal Government's ₦200 billion intervention funds to expand their businesses and promote locally made products.
Speaking during a town hall meeting in Enugu, Idris explained that the funds, comprising the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme, the MSME Intervention Fund, and the Manufacturing Sector Fund were designed to strengthen small businesses, boost manufacturing, and enhance Nigeria's industrial base.
He highlighted the Southeast's strong industrial potential and urged entrepreneurs to embrace the "Nigeria First" policy by prioritizing locally made products.

Idris also noted ongoing federal projects in the region, including the modernization of the Eastern Railway Corridor, rehabilitation of over 1,000 healthcare centres, and the nearly completed 350-metre Eke Obinagu flyover.
Commending Governor Peter Mbah for partnering with the Federal Government, the minister said Enugu and Imo have already secured regulatory autonomy under the new Electricity Act.
He assured that President Bola Tinubu's reforms, though tough, are positioning Nigeria towards a $1 trillion economy by 2030, with the Southeast as a major driver of growth.
