The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has unveiled its Airport Contactless Universal Card at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, as part of its "Go Cashless" initiative to enhance efficiency and transparency across Nigerian airports.
FAAN's Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, described the card as a major step toward modernising passenger experience, noting that it provides faster, safer, and more convenient payment options for airport services.
According to Kuku, who was represented by the Director of Commercial and Business Development, Adebola Agunbiade, the card rollout marks the beginning of a nationwide transition to cashless operations at all FAAN revenue points, including access gates, car parks, and VIP lounges.

She said the project, supported by fintech partner Paystack, is designed to curb revenue leakages, improve accountability, and align FAAN with global aviation standards.
"The contactless card is not just a payment solution — it's a strategic move toward operational efficiency, transparency, and sustainable growth," Kuku stated.
The initiative, which began in Lagos, will be extended to all FAAN-managed airports before the end of the year.
