The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has announced plans to scale up the Small-Scale Enterprise Lab (SSE Lab) initiative nationwide, recognising its impact in driving innovation and entrepreneurship through the Manufacturing Business Accelerator (MBA) programme.
SMEDAN's Director-General, Charles Odii, represented by Lagos State Manager, Dr. Olubunmi Kole-Dawodu, disclosed this during the MBA Business Shower Cohort 2 Graduation in Lagos, themed "Innovation, Inclusion and Impact: Redefining MSMEs in Nigeria's Economy."

Odii said the agency is eager to broaden the programme's reach, describing it as a vital tool for strengthening Nigeria's MSME ecosystem. He emphasised the need for increased collaboration to support the country's over 40 million enterprises, noting that the MBA currently benefits only a small segment.
Founder of SSE Lab, Desola Jimmy-Eboma, explained that the accelerator equips entrepreneurs with practical tools, mentorship, and market readiness in just 90 days. The event also featured exhibitions and business showcases by graduating entrepreneurs, highlighting the growing role of innovation-led MSMEs in Nigeria's industrial transformation.
