ZABALETA TELLS VIDAL: APOLOGIES ARE NOT ENOUGH The Manchester City defender says the Juventus midfielder should have been more disciplined after he crashed his Ferrari under the influence of alcohol on Tuesday Argentina right-back Pablo Zabaleta believes Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal should have been more careful after the 28-year-old was involved in a car crash following a drink-driving incident late on Tuesday night. Vidal escaped unscathed after crashing his Ferrari in Santiago at around 11pm Chilean time, but was found to be under the influence of alcohol after spending time in a casino with his wife and was forced to appear in court on Wednesday. The Juventus midfielder had his license revoked but was cleared to carry on playing in the Copa America - in which he has scored three times in two games for Chile - and made a public apology in a brief appearance in front of the press later on Wednesday. "I want to be cautious," Zabaleta said at an official Argentina press conference on Wednesday evening. "The player came out and said sorry, but it is a disciplinary act and he was in the wrong. He himself has recognised that." But the Manchester City defender believes the whole episode could and should have been avoided. "We are public figures," he said. "And we should be an example to the youngsters. In such an important event like this one, which is being played in your country, you need to be more disciplined. "But like I said, the player has come out and said sorry and I cannot add much more than that." Source:- Goal.com
