Katsina State First Lady, Zulaihat Dikko Radda, has launched a sustainable moringa farming initiative aimed at empowering over 3.6 million women across all local government areas in the state.
The project, executed under her Safe Space Humanitarian Initiative (SASHIN) in collaboration with the Katsina State Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, will provide beneficiaries with moringa seedlings and farming resources over a ten-year period.
Mrs. Radda emphasized the role of agriculture in tackling food insecurity, malnutrition, poverty, and unemployment.
"This project is not just about farming; it's about ensuring economic independence for women and youth," she said.

To incentivize participation, women who successfully nurture their moringa trees for three months will receive N50,000.
The programme aims to produce 34 tons of moringa leaves monthly and 50 tons of seeds quarterly.
For sustainability, SASHIN will facilitate local and international market access for beneficiaries and provide comprehensive training.
The initiative follows a previous SASHIN agricultural support programme that benefited 200 women across the state.
State Commissioner for Agriculture, Ahmed Mohammed, reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to working with SASHIN to ensure the project's success in boosting women's economic empowerment through moringa farming.
