The Federal Government has commenced the construction of a 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCF/D) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mother Station in Akwa Ibom, a move set to drive down fuel costs and create economic opportunities.
President Bola Tinubu commended Nsik Oil and Gas for its investment, emphasizing the role of private-sector initiatives in Nigeria's energy transition. He revealed that the government had already invested N222 billion in the gas sector, with an additional N400 billion to be injected soon.
"When this project is completed, fuel scarcity and high costs will be a thing of the past. People will have access to a cheaper, cleaner energy source," Tinubu stated.
The project, located in Esit Eket, is expected to generate jobs, attract further investments, and position the area as an economic hub.
