The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has certified 62 locally manufactured products in Ebonyi State, awarding Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certificates to 29 companies in Abakaliki.
SON's Director-General, Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, represented by the Head of the South East Directorate, Chukwuma Aharanwa, emphasized that the certification aligns with SON's mission to enforce standardization in Nigeria's manufacturing sector.
"MANCAP ensures all locally made products meet the Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) before entering the market or being exported," Okeke stated, adding that SON will conduct periodic inspections and testing to ensure continued compliance.

This initiative is part of SON's broader efforts to promote quality assurance, enhance consumer confidence, and support Nigeria's manufacturing sector, which experts say requires increased investment and patronage to thrive.
