The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has urged Airbus to establish a maintenance hub in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for localized investment beyond aircraft sales.
Speaking during a tour of Airbus facilities in Spain, Tuggar highlighted Nigeria's strategic role as a regional hub for aviation and security operations in Africa. He stressed that a maintenance hub would create business opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the aviation sector while fostering local workforce development.
The minister also proposed training programs to equip Nigerian youth with technical skills, paving the way for future aircraft assembly and manufacturing in the country.
