The Oyo State Government has trained 1,950 farmers across its 33 local government areas as part of efforts to enhance food security and agricultural sustainability.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Olasunkanmi Olaleye, represented by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Abosede Owoeye, stated that the initiative aligns with Governor Seyi Makinde's commitment to empowering farmers for economic growth.

The training covered various aspects of modern farming: 660 farmers learned pasture management and artificial insemination techniques, 300 were trained in climate-smart agriculture, 140 young farmers received beekeeping training, 100 participants studied shea butter production, and 90 learned locust bean processing.
Additionally, 660 youths, women, and retirees underwent specialized training in mushroom cultivation.
Olaleye urged beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity, emphasizing that expert resource persons were engaged for a comprehensive learning experience.
