Commissioner for Skills Development and Job Creation, Mr. Okwu Oko-Udu, made this known in Abakaliki, noting that Governor Francis Nwifuru approved the scheme to tackle unemployment and end street hawking in the state. As part of the plan, the government is developing an Industrial City at Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu LGA, designed as a hub for both skilled and unskilled individuals. Beneficiaries will receive free shops within the city after their training. He added that several moribund skills centres have been inspected and will soon be revived. "This is a new dimension in job creation. Our aim is to empower our people, bring them back from hawking in other cities, and restore dignity through skill and trade," the Commissioner said. | | | |
