The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and the Katsina State Government have pledged to revamp Nigeria's food system and tackle unemployment through massive investments in agriculture.
Governor Dikko Radda made the pledge during a courtesy visit to NADF's Executive Secretary, Mohammed Ibrahim, in Abuja.
He emphasized that with over 60% of the population dependent on agriculture, Nigeria must shift from import dependency to food self-sufficiency and export-driven production.

"We have no reason to be hungry or poor. If we harness our potential, we will have a great nation," Radda said.
Radda noted that about 90% of Katsina's population are engaged in agricultural value chains. His administration, he said, has already distributed over 400,000 bags of fertiliser and solar-powered pumps to boost rural farming.
Ibrahim assured that NADF's mandate aligns with state efforts and aims to bridge funding gaps, enhance farmer financing, and drive sustainable agricultural development.
