Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, made the announcement during the 2025 ministerial press briefing held in Ikeja, marking Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's second year in his second term. Ajigbotafe emphasized that the leather hub was established to support artisans and entrepreneurs in the leather value chain, with a focus on job creation, capacity development, and infrastructure for MSMEs.
