President Bola Tinubu has approved the formation of an oversight committee to coordinate Nigeria's hosting of the 4th African Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Forum, slated for June 23–27, 2025, in Abuja.
The forum will focus on the theme: "Building Resilient MSMEs through Digital Innovation, Market Access & Affordable Financing for Africa."
According to Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), the committee is tasked with ensuring effective planning for a successful event, which will feature panel sessions, paper presentations, exhibitions, MSME business pitching, and awards to outstanding Nigerian entrepreneurs.

The committee will be chaired by Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff (Office of the Vice President), and includes key ministers, heads of relevant agencies, and private sector leaders such as the MD of Bank of Industry, DG of SMEDAN, and President of NACCIMA.
Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, will serve as both the host country coordinator and secretary of the committee. The forum is expected to boost Nigeria's MSME visibility, strengthen regional collaboration, and open up new financing and digital opportunities for entrepreneurs across the continent.
