His election by the Board of Governors, representing 81 member countries, marks a new chapter for the institution. President Bola Tinubu congratulated Tah and affirmed Nigeria's full support for his leadership. In a call to Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Tinubu praised the transparency of the process and pledged Nigeria's commitment to AfDB's goals, including regional financial integration, economic independence, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
