In a strategic move to drive industrial development, the Federal Government has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
Signed in Abuja, the agreement mandates Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to prioritise certified Nigerian-made products in public procurement.
BPP Director-General, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, described the initiative as "a pipeline from Nigerian innovation to national transformation," noting that public procurement represents a key lever for economic growth.

The MoU will integrate NASENI's locally developed technologies—such as drones, solar systems, and tablets—into the Nigeria Open Contracting Portal (NOCOPO), enabling easier access and verification by MDAs.
NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, hailed the deal as a major boost for investor confidence, revealing that the agency has attracted over $2 billion in foreign investment.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to the "Nigeria First" policy, aligning with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
"This is not the end. It's the launchpad," Adedokun declared.
