The Northwest edition of the GITEX Nigeria 2025 Startup Roadshow kicked off in Kano, providing a unique platform for startups across the northern region to showcase their innovation and connect with global opportunities.
Announced via the official X handle of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the event was organised by the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation (ONDI), a subsidiary of NITDA. The Roadshow, which has already toured four other geopolitical zones, will wrap up in Lagos, representing the Southwest zone, to ensure nationwide inclusivity.
Delivering remarks on behalf of NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa, the Northwest Zonal Coordinator, Engr. Muhammad Kabir Salihu, highlighted the theme: "Bridging Nigeria's Innovation with Global Opportunities." He stressed the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs through access to mentorship, funding, and visibility.

The event also received backing from the Northwest Development Commission (NWDC), and featured discussions around NITDA's iHatch incubation initiative, which continues to empower startups through structured growth programmes.
Salihu called for collaboration among innovators, investors, and policymakers to co-create Africa's digital future and strengthen Nigeria's position in the global tech ecosystem.
