The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to modernising Nigeria's trade framework in alignment with global standards, as part of a broader effort to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Speaking at a national economic summit, Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, highlighted the ministry's accelerated implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which she said now grants Nigerian entrepreneurs access to a $3.4 trillion integrated market.
"Proudly, we were the first country to complete the AfCFTA Five-Year Implementation Review," Oduwole stated. "We are providing the infrastructure clarity and fiscal certainty investors demand."

The minister described the summit as a platform for government and stakeholders to co-create a new era of sustainable economic transformation. She stressed the importance of translating national ambitions into productivity and global competitiveness through a "Nigeria First" policy approach.
Oduwole also expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their partnership, noting that they are central to Nigeria's economic future. "To every company here today: we see you. We value you. You are the builders of jobs, innovation, and resilience," she said.
