The Zamfara State Government has introduced major business reforms aimed at improving the environment for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These include changes to key business laws and the creation of five Small Claims Courts to fast-track dispute resolution for local entrepreneurs.
At a town hall meeting hosted in partnership with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Deputy Governor Malam Mani Malam Mummuni said the state was fully aligned with the federal government's efforts to remove business barriers and promote economic development under the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER).
The state has amended several laws and introduced executive orders to simplify land processes, streamline taxes, improve infrastructure, and offer incentives that support SMEs. A key achievement, the Deputy Governor noted, is the launch of Small Claims Courts, which are expected to help SMEs resolve commercial disputes quickly and affordably.
