The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has carried out a quality inspection in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, to ensure compliance with local and international standards in mineral processing.
Led by SON State Coordinator Michael Ogbuji, the team evaluated raw materials, production equipment, finished Kaolin products, and safety measures. Following the visit, the products were certified under SON's Product Identification Scheme (PIS), a mark recognized worldwide.
The facility is also expected to progress to the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP), enabling wider market access.
Representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo, CEO Ebuka Ujubuonu emphasized the state's commitment to transforming Anambra into an industrial hub. The government is also developing a pharmaceutical factory to produce pharmaceutical-grade Kaolin for medicinal use.
