The Federal Government has announced the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) to connect unemployed graduates across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory with paid, practical work experience.
Speaking ahead of the official launch in Abuja, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Hadejia, said the initiative supports President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda by addressing youth unemployment and improving national productivity.
The programme will be officially launched on Wednesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the State House Conference Centre.
Hadejia explained that the 12-month paid fellowship provides graduates with placements in both public and private organisations, offering a monthly stipend of ₦150,000. He noted that the initiative helps young Nigerians gain skills and experience to recover from economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Supported by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme, the NJFP has secured €44 million from the EU to aid implementation. The UNDP also expressed commitment to deepening the partnership to strengthen more Nigerian institutions.

Employers participating in the programme benefit from access to skilled personnel, lower recruitment costs, and improved productivity, while fellows gain experience that could lead to permanent jobs or entrepreneurship.
Hadejia said that organisations may retain fellows after completion or support them in launching businesses that will create more jobs.
Through its partnerships, the NJFP aims to build a stronger, inclusive workforce and expand economic opportunities for young Nigerians.
