Nigeria and China, alongside 76 other countries, are gearing up to strengthen global partnerships in agricultural innovation and sustainability at the Farm, Food and Allied Technology (FARMFATECH) Expo 2025, scheduled to hold at the Velodrome, National Stadium, Abuja.
The President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, disclosed this at a joint press conference with sponsors and stakeholders of the event. He said the upcoming edition would build on the success of the inaugural expo by expanding international collaboration and driving new investment in the agro-industrial sector.
According to Obegolu, the three-day global event will feature over 500 exhibitors and attract approximately 500,000 visitors, including farmers, investors, policymakers, and agribusiness leaders from across the world.
He explained that FARMFATECH 2025 would showcase cutting-edge agro-mechanisation technologies, food-processing solutions, and value-chain innovations designed to enhance productivity, promote industrial growth, and strengthen food security in Nigeria and beyond.

"This year's expo reinforces our shared vision to deepen collaboration and knowledge exchange between Nigeria, China, and other international partners in advancing agricultural innovation and sustainability," Obegolu said.
"Our passion for the growth of Nigeria's agricultural sector remains at the heart of this event, which we believe will boost productivity, attract investment, and create employment opportunities across the value chain."
Adding his perspective, Prince Tony Afam Ifeakandu, Managing Director of Autodex Nigeria Ltd, underscored the importance of mechanisation and smart logistics in achieving lasting food security.
"At Autodex, we believe food security is inseparable from productive mechanisation and smart logistics," he stated. "Nigeria's farmers are hardworking and capable — our role is to empower them with efficient machinery and clean-energy mobility solutions that reduce costs, improve yields, and accelerate market access."
Ifeakandu revealed that Autodex is helping strengthen agricultural mobility and field-to-market reliability through innovations in hybrid and electric vehicles, tricycles, motorbikes, and utility vehicles, alongside investments in charging and battery-swap infrastructure.
"Our mission is simple: equip farmers to produce more, move faster, and earn better — because a food-secure Nigeria must be powered by innovation," he added.
Obegolu and Ifeakandu both affirmed that FARMFATECH 2025 will serve as a strategic platform for global collaboration, positioning Nigeria as a key player in Africa's agricultural transformation.
Highlighting the role of the chamber, Obegolu explained that the ACCI's Agriculture Trade Group is a major driver of the initiative, working through its four centres — the Business, Entrepreneurship, Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), Nigerian Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolution Centre (NCC-DRC), and National Policy Advocacy Centre (NPAC) — to promote economic diversification, innovation, and sustainable development.
