The Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, Dr. Eric Odo, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to eradicating poverty and ensuring food security through modern agricultural initiatives.
Speaking at the launch of the Agricultural Public/Private Partnership Programme (P4) with Resourceful Crop Farmers (RCF) in Ogbede, Odo emphasized that the program aligns with Governor Peter Mbah's vision of leveraging agriculture for economic growth.
He revealed that agriculture is projected to contribute over 17% to Enugu State's GDP, highlighting the local government's potential in advancing the state's agricultural agenda.

Plans are in place to allocate a special budget for the initiative by 2026, supporting the cultivation of yam, cocoyam, pepper, cassava, and beniseed across five hectares.
Odo, however, warned beneficiaries against misusing government-provided funds, stressing accountability in managing resources.
Programme Coordinator, Mr. Donatus Okpokoeze, noted that the P4 initiative would offer farmers enhanced opportunities to scale their agricultural practices.
