The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programmehas provided grants to 12,423 farmers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), supporting agricultural productivity and economic recovery.
Mandate Secretary of the FCT Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat (ARDS), Mr. Lawan Geidam, announced this during the inauguration of a Pre-Field Training for Enumerators in Gwagwalada.
The training is part of preparations for the Endline and Beneficiaries Impact Assessment Survey.
Geidam highlighted that following the success of NG-CARES 1.0, the World Bank approved additional funding, renaming the initiative Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES 2.0), set to launch in June.
He noted that 66% of the disbursed grants were issued in under two years, benefiting 181 Farmers Community Associations.

As part of the event, office equipment was handed over to FCT FADAMA CARES desk offices in all six area councils, reinforcing programme operations.
