Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has apologised to Lagosians over the traffic gridlock caused by ongoing repair works on the Independence Bridge at Bonny Camp.
In a statement after visiting the site, Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the disruption and delays faced by commuters and assured residents that the government was working to reduce the burden as swiftly as possible.
"I understand the frustration, delays, and disruption this has caused in your daily lives. As someone who also moves through this city, I feel your pain," he said. "This repair was not decided overnight. It has been in the works for over three years, and the structural issues, if left unattended, could have led to disaster."
