The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has awarded Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certificates to 44 companies in Anambra State, recognizing their compliance with product quality standards.
At the presentation ceremony held on Thursday in Awka, SON's Anambra Office 1 confirmed that the certified companies met all quality requirements for their new and existing products, including some imported items.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke, SON's Director-General (represented by Mr. Chinedu Agafie, Director, Anambra Regional Office), said the certification affirms the companies' commitment to producing standardized and traceable products that meet market demands.
He praised the recipients for their contribution to the Nigerian economy and urged them to maintain high standards of production. "We strongly advise you to comply with all stipulated conditions for your certification," he said.

Okeke emphasized that quality assurance is essential for customer satisfaction, repeat patronage, and business profitability. "In a competitive market, failure to deliver quality products will make customers turn to alternatives," he noted.
He also commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for fostering a business-friendly environment in the state.
Also speaking, Mr. Emmanuel Husseni, SON State Coordinator, applauded the awardees for meeting the organization's approval criteria and encouraged them to update their product branding with the new MANCAP logo.
One of the recipients, Mrs. Christiana Nwaele, Managing Director of Sylflora Industries and Farms, acknowledged SON's efforts in boosting the credibility of local products, but raised concerns about unregulated manufacturers who, she said, pose risks to public safety and legitimate businesses.
