In a bold move to combat food insecurity and drive economic growth, the Lagos State Government has empowered youths and farmers in Alimosho LGA with vital fish production skills.
The one-day intensive training, organised by the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD) and held at Mosan Okunola LCDA, aimed to equip participants with hands-on knowledge in hatchery operations, fish management, processing, and marketing.
Director of CERUD, Mr. Musibau Balogun, cautioned against selling the empowerment tools and urged beneficiaries to embrace self-reliance.
He assured committed participants of continued support. Council Manager Mrs. Abiola Apatira-Aderinokun commended the initiative, highlighting its potential to uplift livelihoods and drive development in the area.
Beneficiaries received fish feeds, fingerlings, tanks, and smoking kilns, pledging to make the most of the resources.
The programme reflects Governor Sanwo-Olu's drive to empower young people and make affordable food accessible across Lagos.
