At its 149th meeting, Vice President Kashim Shettima urged members to prioritize action over rhetoric, calling on them to deliver measurable outcomes that build a resilient, inclusive economy. A major highlight was the revival of the Cotton, Textile, and Garment Development Board—funded by levies on textile imports—to reduce dependence on foreign textiles and stimulate local production.
