Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has encouraged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to seize opportunities in agriculture and technology to secure their future.
Speaking at the close of the 2024 Batch B Stream One Orientation in Paikoro, through Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Alhaji Yahaya Gulbin-Boka, Bago advised corps members to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme for lifelong benefits.
He stressed the importance of leveraging ICT skills, aligning with the state's recent "Digital Literacy for All" initiative launched in Minna.

Highlighting agriculture as a strategic path to self-reliance, the governor urged the corps members to tap into the state's agricultural value chain initiatives aimed at boosting food security.
Earlier, NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Abdulwahab, charged the corps members to uphold the scheme's core values of unity and national integration. She described SAED as a vital tool for building self-reliance and wealth creation.
Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Abubakar, represented by Dr. Nuhu Garba Ngaski, also encouraged corps members to foster friendships and respect local cultures during their service year, assuring them of government support throughout their stay.
