Nigeria's drive for food security and livestock development has received a significant boost through a new partnership between Silagreen International Agro Development Limited and Brazil's University of Zebu Breeders Association (ABCZ).
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), announced by Silagreen's Chief Executive Officer, Michael Akinruli, aims to enhance cattle breeding, dairy production, and livestock management through technology transfer and specialised training for Nigerian youths, farmers, and academics.
Facilitated by Brazilian partner ZEBUEMBRYO Company, the agreement includes a cultural and scientific exchange programme, with structured short courses ranging from one to six months.

The training will be delivered in a hybrid format—partially online from Nigeria, and concluded at Brazil's renowned "University of Cattle," a top-tier institution focused entirely on livestock education, research, and practice.
Akinruli said the initiative aligns with the objectives of Nigeria's newly established Ministry of Livestock Development, as it will equip graduates and undergraduates with practical skills in cattle nutrition, genetics, and modern livestock techniques.
"This is a university on a farm, fully accredited and one of Brazil's best," Akinruli said. "It will drive capacity building, technology transfer, and fast-track beef and dairy production in Nigeria."
The programme is expected to support Nigeria's agricultural transformation by creating a pipeline of skilled professionals equipped with global best practices in livestock management.
